Madeleine “Mads” Richardson (them/they) is a Brooklyn-based queer director, producer and editor from Asheville, NC - passionate about diverse storytelling and LGBTQ+ representation. With expertise in production design and advertising, they bring a unique perspective to narrative and commercial filmmaking.

From 2017-2022, they founded and acted as Creative Director for Cat Fly Film Festival, the premiere film festival in Asheville, NC, showcasing emerging LGBTQ+ and BIPOC filmmakers from the South and amplifying underrepresented voices with 50+ screening events and workshops.

Some of their work has premiered at festivals in London, Turkey, Poland and throughout the Southeastern U.S.

Their ideal night includes a bad reality tv binge paired with a great movie, probably while eating steamed dumplings.
